The HETTICH group with its headquarters in Kirchlengern is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of furniture fittings. In Exter/Vlotho, HETTICH operates a highly automated assembly plant for the production of high-quality, intelligent furniture technology. In order to implement the HETTICH Group’s growth strategy, a plant structure plan was drawn up, including planning and realisation of an approx. 8,000 m² extension building.
GREAN is a young and innovative team with unconventional ideas. But behind these ideas there is profound know-how. This has been demonstrated time and again in our workshops on strategic location orientation and layout planning.
In the first phase of the project, the current production structures and data, as well as the space allocation at the site, were jointly recorded. On the basis of the ACTUAL recording and the growth scenarios, GREAN and HETTICH developed the future plant structure and various rough layout variants for the site expansion on a workshop basis. Logistics and production areas were modularised and dimensioned. After evaluation and final selection of the preferred variant, the expansion building was realized in only 9 months until the end of 2016.
In detail, the following services were provided:
-
Recording the main value flows
-
Analysis of material flows in the ACTUAL state and in growth scenarios
-
Area recording and segmentation on block layout level
-
Conception of the incoming and outgoing goods
-
Modularisation and dimensioning of production and logistics areas
-
Development, evaluation and selection of coarse layout variants
-
Development of a phased plan for structural implementation
