As part of a cross-site master plan, Sartorius Stedim Biotech GmbH decided in 2012 to shift all logistics traffic from the inner zones to the peripheral areas of the plant. The direct connection via the surrounding roads was to optimize logistical processes and at the same time create a campus free of cars and trucks. To achieve this goal, an incoming and outgoing goods department for the supply and disposal of a production building had to be relocated to a new building.
Together with the Institute for Factory Systems and Logistics, GREAN supported the client in reorganising the incoming and outgoing goods department. Within the scope of the project, a rough concept for the design of the future incoming and outgoing goods department was developed in several workshops together with the customer. In addition, a layout for the transfer of the freed-up space into a central final packaging was designed within the project.
In detail, the following services were provided:
-
Recording the ACTUAL situation
-
Recording existing material flows
-
Identification of potentials and fields of action
-
Derivation of a concept for the restructuring of incoming and outgoing goods
-
Development of a coarse layout for incoming and outgoing goods and the central final packaging
